William Morgan

Obituary of William K. Morgan

Castleton-William (Bill) K Morgan, Jr.  passed away friday June 10, 2022 at home.

He was born May 4th, 1943 to Winifred and W. Kenneth Morgan, the eldest of four sons.

Bill worked for NYS Tax Department for 43 years before retiring.  Bill found joy, in just about anything, but he truly enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting trap at Philmont Rod and Gun Club.

Anything but ordinary, Bill NEVER blended in, if you didn't hear him first, you saw him as he always sported a hunter safety orange hat.  Bill was both a soft spoken giant and a boisterous jokester.  He never allowed a day to pass where he did not meet and befriend a new person.  Bill loved nothing more than to "get 'em going", and start discussions on politics, relish in stories of his massive family or share humorous anecdotes.

A deeply devoted husband, Bill could often be found supporting his wife’s ministry, attending church service, assisting at fund raisers/community events.

Bill would tell anyone that would listen, and probably some that wouldn’t, his greatest accomplishment in life were his children.  His pride in his family always evident; a father to 10 girls and 4 boys, he wore many hats, he was the loudest cheerleader, strongest advocate, chauffeur, confidant, dress shopper/purse holder, life coach,  handyman and the biggest supporter of any and all of his children’s many varied hobbies / interests.

In addition to leaving a legacy of love, endless stories, many laughs and a passion for service.  Bill leaves behind, his wife of 56 years, Barbara, his 14 children Colleen (Kent) McHeard, Darleen Morgan, Amy Morgan, Bonnie Morgan, Eileen (Jim) Fish, Faith Morgan, William Morgan III, Sean (Jessica) Morgan, Hope Warner, Daniel Morgan, Laura Alverson,  Patricia (Adrian) Gutierrez, Timothy (Amanda) Morgan and Teresa (Frank)Thierbecker; 22 grandchildren a loving Labrador, stubborn beagle, and a couple of cherished cats
