EAST GREENBUSH - Deborah Ann Tator, 49, of East Greenbush, passed away suddenly Monday, February 7, 2022, at St Peter's Hospital.
Deborah was born April 5, 1972, in Albany, New York, the daughter of the late Gerald and Phyllis (Montarulo) Decker.
Debbie worked as the 7th Grade Social Studies teacher for the majority of her career and served several years as the curriculum leader. Her kids were everything to her and she never stopped talking about them, even at home. She always went above and beyond whether it be supporting students in need or volunteering to help with leadership committees. Debbie loved to travel to her second home in Chincoteague, Virginia every year since she was 5 months old. She always wanted to take her annual sunset photos and photos of her family on every part of the island. From a young age, she always loved playing sports. From playing with the boys on the East Greenbush baseball team up to Babe Ruth, to switching to play girls softball, to recently helping her daughter’s softball team as a coach for the EG Express teams, to being an avid Yankees fan. Debbie loved the game.
Throughout her life she has made strong friendships where her friends turned into her extended family no matter where her friends went. From having a second vacation family to having her second families that were always invited to every holiday gathering, Debbie loved everyone and everyone loved her.
Survivors include her beloved husband Nathan Tator, her proud mother Phyllis Decker, her loving children Phyllis Rinella, and Natalie Tator, and her sister Joanne (Craig Thaler) Dwyer.
She was Predeceased by her father Gerald Decker.
