Obituary of Sherry Ann Smithies

AVERILL PARK - Sherry Ann Smithies, 49, of Averill Park, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at St. Peter's Hospital. Sherry was born March 10, 1972, in Albany, New York, the daughter of the late Henry C. and Adelia M. (Hubbard) Houser. 

Sherry attended the East Greenbush School district. Sherry worked for over 20 years at various locations for the Cumberland Farms corp until becoming ill. Sherry was an adamant fan of Adam Levine. Sherry was a very fun, loving aunt who enjoyed spoiling all babies. She spent her Saturdays at Lebanon Valley speedway with her brothers watching her little brother and cousins race. While she was ill she spent her days with her beloved cat Mewtwo(Bugsy) 

Survivors include her daughter Amber Smithies, her husband Mathew Smithies, her Siblings Susan (Robert) Bivins, Henry Jr (Doreen) Houser, Mary (Brian Sr) Hunter, Donna (Edward) Hidley, David (Dawn) Houser Laura Grosebeck, Angela Lepore-Tubbs (sisters by heart) She is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and cousins and Great nieces and nephews 

She was Preceded in death by her infant son Matthew Smithies Jr and siblings Charles Houser and Andrew Houser 

Friends are invited to her calling hours Thursday afternoon 12-2 with a funeral service at 2 at the Rockefeller Funeral home, 165

Columbia Tpk in Rensselaer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sherry’s name to a charity of the donor's choice.
