Obituary of Peter J. Gutta

RENSSELAER - Peter J. Gutta, Jr., 74, of Rensselaer, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at St. Peter's Hospital. 

Peter was born August 4, 1947, in Albany, New York, the son of the late Peter and Anna (Domagalski) Gutta Sr.  Peter married Linda in 1979 and moved to Rensselaer. This is where they resided for the next 42 years. Peter was an entrepreneur, a fabulous musician, a contractor, and a facility manager for many years before retiring. Peter is remembered as a caring man, talented and hardworking. He was easy to talk to and always engaging, thoughtful, and fun. He liked to joke and made friends wherever he went. Peter's favorite pastimes included playing the guitar and keyboard, camping, spending time outdoors photographing and wildlife watching especially for Black Bear, renovation projects, and spending time with his family and friends. Peter was a generous, gracious, and approachable person and made everyone feel valued.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (Guyette) Gutta, his children Dane (Myla) Sorensen, Mandy Velez, his siblings Dorothy (Jerry) Bolduc, sister-in-law, Laura Gutta, and grandchildren Carver, Ava, Liv, and Toni. He was Predeceased by siblings Joseph Gutta, MaryAnna Guilfuss, and Theresa Elario. He was a loving uncle to Gary Bolduc, Lori (Brad) Malone, Carolanne (Bill) Rice, Linda (Rich) Smith, Fred (Michelle) Guilefuss, Carl (Kathy) Guilefuss, Peter Gutta, James Gutta, Robin Elario, Joe (Kris Ann) Elario, along with their children.

The family would also like to acknowledge with gratitude the doctors and RN staff at St. Peter's Hospital for their care, compassion, and support.
