Obituary of Raymond D. Oddy
Raymond Daniel Oddy, 75, of East Greenbush passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Ray’s loving wife of 42 years, Gail, was at his side.
Ray was born in Schenectady, New York on May 16, 1946 to Lillian ad Raymond C. Oddy. After high school, Ray attended the Boston Institute of Art. After graduation, Ray enlisted in the U.S. Army where he honorably served from 1968 to 1971. Ray was a combat medic and served in Viet Nam. After his military service, Ray went to work at the Albany Medical Center where he was employed for 45 years in several capacities, including supervisor of intra venous therapy. It was at Albany Medical Center that Ray met Gail Cotter. They were married on March 20, 1984.
Ray enjoyed camping, fishing, and visiting museums. Ray also had an interest in history and enjoyed quiet rides in the country.
Ray is survived by his wife Gail, stepdaughter Nancy Poitras, and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at the Saratoga National Cemetery at a date yet to be determined.
