
Obituary of Margot Scott
CASTLETON – Margot "Margo" Scott, 90, of Castleton, passed away in her home after a short illness on Friday, August 6, 2021. Margot was born in Albany, New York, the daughter of the late Otto and Hannah (Meyer) Kube. She was predeceased by her brother, Rudolph Kube. After deciding at an early age that she wanted to become a teacher, she followed her dream for 33 years while teaching 4th grade at Green Meadow Elementary School in the East Greenbush School district before retiring in 1986. Besides being an active member of her church, Margot was an avid crafter, enjoying using her fancy sewing machine for many different projects. Her interests included ceramics, quilting, hand-making animal dolls for children of all ages and crocheting her famous kitchen scrubbies. She was also a collector of all things involving mice and teddy bears.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years Lloyd E. Scott Jr.; two sons, Kenneth Scott of Stephentown, NY and Michael (Janice) Scott of Naugatuck, CT, and grandson Jason K. Scott of Milton, VT.
Relatives and Friends may call from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Thursday at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpk in Rensselaer. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Margot’s name to either Community Hospice of Albany or the Greenbush Reformed Church.
