Obituary of Charles E. Romano

RENSSELAER - Charles E. Romano, 66, of Rensselaer, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Charles was born May 7, 1955, in Albany, NY, the son of the late Agostino and Frances (Rogers) Romano.

Charlie was a doting father, thoughtful friend, unrelenting comedian, and a generous man with a soft spot for animals and those in need.

Charlie is survived by his loving daughters Kelly (Christopher) Flynn, Kimberly (Albert) Arceri, and Brooke Romano; siblings Michael (Penny) Romano, Frances (Thomas) Nolan, June Herrington (Steve Calacone); brother-in-law William (Kristin) Brooking Sr; goddaughters Patti (Bob) Tansey and Terri Romano. He was the proud and playful “Poppy” of Emerson and Logan Flynn and Pearl and Liliana Arceri. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters and brother-in-law Theresa Brooking and Dawn (Lothar) Allert.
Family and friends are invited to attend his calling hours from 4 – 6 p.m. on Friday, July 2, and Funeral Service at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 3 at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpk in Rensselaer. To send flowers or plant a tree in memory of Charlie, please visit the Funeral Home’s Tribute store. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Charlie’s name to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
