Obituary of Dorothy McGrail

Dorothy E. (Carpinello) McGrail, 89, of Snyders Lake, New York died Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at her home, surrounded by friends and family who had gathered to celebrate with her on her 89th birthday.

Dorothy was born in Albany the daughter of John Jay Kern and Dorothy Tubbs.  She was a Bus Driver for East Greenbush Central Schools from the mid 60's into the 80's.

Some of you may remember her as Dottie Kern or Dottie Higgins when she was a kid. Others may remember her as Dot Carpinello from her first marriage and her time time with the Bruen Rescue Squad during to 60's and early 70's. And some of you may remember her as Dot McGrail in the second half of her life. Most of you remember her as just plain old "Ma".

Predeceased by her husband Michael "Mickey" McGrail Sr., her daughter Patty, her grand daughter Vicky,  and her stepson Michael (Mike) McGrail Jr.
Ma is survived by her children: Danny "Fritz" Carpinello, Jackie (Patrick) Ryan, Rich (Valerie) Carpinello, Jay (Laurie) Carpinello, Tammy Burke and Patty(Rick) Burke.  

She also leaves behind 4 step children, Tina, Tammy, Kathy and Chuck Mcgrail; 4 grandchildren, Chrissie Keevern Mieczkowski, David M Keevern Jr, Nicholas Carpinello, and Halla Carpinello; as well as "dozens" of great gandchildren, step grand children and step great grandchildren,  (according to Ma, "too many to keep track of") that include David, Austin, and Jacob MacDonald, Seth Bernard, Dakota and Daytona Cross, and Shelley LeBlanc.

Ma is also survived by a team of people who took excellent care of her in recent years. Including, Kim Bennett, Sue "Sugi" Ellnor, Tamara Carman, Stephanie Fordley, Johnny Gasbara, her beloved nephew Gordie Linscott and his sidekick Buck (who she affectionately called "the baby"), Kenny Brady, Nicole Martin, Kayla and Terrel Reeves, Steve Petteresen, Sandy Love, Ricky Shatraw, Stephanie Mangene, Jessie Wilcox, and Flora Greaves.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her her calling hours on Saturday May 12, from 10-12 at the Love Lutheran Church Pheasant Lane East Greenbush, NY.  Funeral services will begin at 12.
