East Greenbush - Arnold J. Seim, 92, of East Greenbush entered into his eternal rest peacefully Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Home, surrounded by his loving family.
Arnold was born in Albany, New York, the son of the late Edward and the late Edith (Mielke) Seim.
He served in the Army from 1951 to 1952 during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. He worked for 25 years as Office Manager for Bethlehem Steel Corporation, as well as a salesman at Albany Steel. Arnold was a well known pianist and organist in the Capital Region and played with many area Big Bands and Quartets. Music was his passion and he shared his gift in many ways. Visiting area Nursing Homes to entertain the residents, composing, arranging and playing the organ for family and friends weddings, and playing each Sunday to the Glory of God at many area churches, retiring in May of 2021 after 71 years as a church organist. He touched many hearts with his music and has left a lasting legacy. Arnold will be missed by all that knew him. His smile and positive attitude, his devotion to his family, and his abiding faith were an inspiration to many.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years Wilhelmina E. Seim, son John M, (Gabriella) Seim, daughter Lori E. Seim. Survived by his sister-in-law Annabelle Shuhart, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Warren and Dorothy Pratt, cousins Marilyn Mielke and Robert Klingensmith. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Seim and brother-in-law Robert Shuhart.
Relatives and Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, 12/27 at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc. 165 Columbia Turnpike in Rensselaer. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at St. Matthew & St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1500 Western Avenue, Albany, NY. 12203.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Arnold’s name to St. Matthew & St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the Epilepsy Foundation.
