Mary Gabriella Martits, 78, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2021 at Evergreen Commons Rehabilitation Center in East Greenbush, NY. She was born September 25, 1943 in Budapest, Hungary and came to the United States with her mother and brother when she was 4 years old. She was a lifelong resident of Albany, NY and worked for many years for the State of New York Division of Licensing Services. She often rode her bike to work, as well as most places she wanted to go. Her life was full of friends, as well as her beloved dogs and cats. She leaves her cat, Korona. She enjoyed taking trips and sightseeing or visiting family and friends. She was an excellent seamstress and had many customers for sewing and alterations. She had been an avid enthusiast of miniatures and built a number of doll houses for miniatures. After retirement she enjoyed working at the Honest Weight Food Coop. She is survived by her brother, Steven Martits and his wife Sue; her niece Brooke Martis-Sarmiento; her cousins, Klara Weis; Elli Collins; Peggy Schmidt and her spouse Wilma Palombo; Christina Harrison, and their families; and other cousins in Hungary. The family would like to thank Mary's very special friends, Molly, Jan, and Louise, for their friendship and care especially during the last two years.
