Pamela Lee Mackay

Pamela L. Mackay, 66, passed away peacefully December 1, 2021 at the Delmar Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing after a short illness. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, James, and their daughter, Jessica.

She was born in St. Stephen, Canada on April 29, 1955 to Alec and Edna Rowe. She was the youngest of seven children, including Maxine, Leroy, Cecil, James, Catherine and Alexine. She was a graduate of Calais Memorial High School. She met James D. Mackay through their mutual faith and they married on May 20, 1978.

She enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, walking along the beach collecting seashells and spending hours gardening. She learned how to make stained glass as a hobby, which she turned into a small business. She enjoyed making quilts, even learning to use a treadle sewing machine. Pam gave of herself to others; for many years she and James fostered at-risk children in their home.

When she wasn’t gardening or making stained glass, Pam loved playing games on the computer and spending time with loved ones. Her high scores on Zuma’s Revenge will likely remain unbroken.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Albany Med and the staff at the Delmar Center for Rehabilitation for the wonderful care they provided.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, December 18 at 1PM via Zoom:
