Arnold Louis Peters, age 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 31, 2020, in Cohoes, NY. He was born on May 7, 1924, in Cleveland, Ohio to Anna and Adolph Peters. Arnold was a proud Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe and earning three bronze stars. He graduated from Case-Western Reserve University with an Accounting degree and had a long and successful career at Towmotor/Caterpillar, Inc. in Mentor, Ohio as Manager of the Tax Department before retiring with his wife Betty to New Bern, North Carolina. Arnold was also a dedicated member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cleveland, Ohio for many years.
Mr. Peters was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Betty Peters, and siblings: Alma Plietchwait, Adolph Peters, Eleanor Gutman and Herman Peters. He leaves behind a large and loving family which includes his daughter, Jayne (John) Ferro, son Gary Peters, grandchildren Brandye (Adam) Iacolucci, Robin (Luis) Martinez, Kim (Glen) Bujak and Christopher Ferro, and great-grandchildren Brianna, Mia, Sophia, Caleb, Isabella and Lucas. Arnold is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service and internment of both Arnold and Betty will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2020, at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, Ohio 44273.
